Charim is happy to announce Stephen Willats' first solo exhibition with the gallery. He will be showing new work recently produced in Vienna with films shot in the Central Cemetery (Zentralfriedhof) and the mixed-use suburbs around Leopoldau. These will be shown alongside significant early work from the artist. 

Stephen Willats is a pioneering British conceptual artist. Starting in the 1960s his work applies aspects of cybernetics and social theory to specific contexts, seeking new ways to understand and re-invent the systems we all are embedded within, work that proves to be ever more relevant today.
